The second moon of Neptune, Nereid, is irregularly shaped and has one of the most eccentric orbits of any moon in the Solar system: it's orbital path is an extremely elongated oval rather than a more circular shape. At its furthest distance it is almost seven times further away from Neptune than at its closest point.
