Why does my mouth feel this way?

Yesterday around 2:30 my cheek started to feel numb. It was mostly on the left side, and went from my cheekbone down. I was told by a friend that it's a sign of anxiety (which I was diagnosed with). Then towards night time, my mouth got cold. Now my mouth feels cold and puffy and heavy. Almost like a chewy feeling. And it's also extremely smooth. Could this be an allergic reaction? I had an allergy medicine that I never took be fore right before all of this stuff happened yesterday. Also for the past week I've had a sore throat that constantly feels like it's closing and I have pain on my left throat going from the back of my throat on the left nd traveling to the left ear. I did go to the doctors and he didn't seem to concerned. What could this be? It's really bothering me.
